I began my career in journalism as a photojournalist and have always enjoyed photography as much as writing.

I also enjoy creating video and multimedia projects. In 2015, I covered the Lanternfest in Albuquerque. The festival was a time for attendees to send their wishes, hopes and dreams into the sky.

I also have covered our local Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) parade, looking for stories about the tradition. The afternoon-long event is rich with personal anecdotes about life and loss.

In 2013, I spent the summer interviewing former journalists with the Daily Lobo, the independent student newspaper at the University of New Mexico. It was fascinating to hear the stories of how young reporters covered some of the state’s biggest stories over the decades.

In the spring of 2016, I created a video to highlight the work of my student interns at the New Mexico News Port, a collaborative news site at the University of New Mexico.
