I began my career in journalism as a photojournalist and have always enjoyed photography as much as writing.

I also enjoy creating video and multimedia projects. I recently created a video to highlight the work of my student interns at the New Mexico News Port, a collaborative news site at the University of New Mexico where I worked as editor from 2014 to 2016.

In 2016, I created a video to showcase the work of students in my mobile reporting class. It was the first time the class was offered at UNM, and interest was high in seeing the types of projects students produced.

In 2015, I covered the Lanternfest in Albuquerque. The festival was a time for attendees to send their wishes, hopes and dreams into the sky.

In 2013, I spent the summer interviewing former journalists with the Daily Lobo, the independent student newspaper at the University of New Mexico. It was fascinating to hear the stories of how young reporters covered some of the state’s biggest stories over the decades.
